Beginning of something

Hello and welcome! My name is Sauli Lepola, and this space is dedicated to exploring the complexities of living in the digital age.

My journey through life has been a fascinating blend of entrepreneurship, technology, and personal exploration, and I’m excited to share a bit about it with you.

Born in the late 80s, I straddled the divide between an analog childhood and a digital adolescence. At 15, I received my first computer—a decade-old relic that sparked my lifelong fascination with technology. That same year, I got my hands on a trusty Nokia mobile phone, marking the beginning of my digital journey.

At 19, I ventured into the business world by starting a car repair and rental company. Although my mandatory military service posed challenges for the company, this early venture taught me resilience and adaptability. I always liked the technological side of running a business, and so at 22, I pivoted to the IT world, launching a company focused on IT support and web development. Running this business for five years, before returning to school was a transformative experience.

After graduating in 2011, I joined Elisa, where I began as second-line technical support and eventually third-line technical support, trainer, and lead on a new proactive maintenance team, setting a new standard for how the company manages consumer services. This role allowed me to combine my technical skills with my passion for innovation and customer satisfaction.

Navigating my career with ADHD has been a unique experience. The internet’s endless stimuli offer boundless engagement opportunities, but also the risk of distraction. Balancing these aspects has been a journey of understanding and adaptation. My calm and logical approach, combined with quick learning and a passion for problem-solving, has been essential in managing these challenges.

In 2019, I transitioned from my career to become a caretaker for my parents during a challenging period. My father’s recent passing has been a profound experience, and I continue to support my mother. This phase has deepened my sense of responsibility and compassion, and while it was demanding, it has been incredibly meaningful.

Outside of work, I’m a self-proclaimed geek with a passion for DIY projects, electronics, and exploring digital trends. Whether it’s dismantling gadgets or diving into AI, SEO, and social media, I’m always eager to learn and adapt. Though I’m more of an introvert, I also deeply value human connections and the opportunity to help others.

As I look ahead, I’m seeking a role that aligns with my values and allows me to make a meaningful impact. While financial stability is important, I’m motivated by the desire to work in a place where my contributions are valued beyond a paycheck and where I can continue to grow both personally and professionally.

Through this blog, I aim to explore these themes and more. I’ll delve into the geeky joys of DIY projects, share stories of troubleshooting triumphs, and offer peeks into the nerd life. But more importantly, I hope to foster meaningful discussions that might lead some people to feel more seen and understood.

So, whether you’re a fellow traveler on the digital journey or simply curious about life online, I invite you to join me as we navigate this ever-changing landscape together.
